The Rotary Club of Dexter welcomed Claudia Werner of Building Up: Partnering in Health and Wholeness (PHW) on February 19 to spark about their ambitious project to provide compassionate medical and dental care in a
remote and underserved area of Uganda.

Building Up: PHW and their partner in Uganda, the Tsiyon Healing Team, built and opened the Tsiyon Family Hospital from 2018-2023, and they continue to raise funds and in-kind donations to sustain, equip and expand the capabilities of the hospital. Their current goals include installing an elevator and equipping an operating room. They can accept donations via this link, and their 2026 Tee Off for Uganda Golf Scramble fundraiser takes place at Hudson Mills Golf Course on July 25. They also have opportunities to join a mission trip to Uganda in June 2026.
