On September 18, Caryl Burke, President of the Dexter Area Historical Society, shared some of the history of Gordon Hall and updated the Rotary Club of Dexter on the progress of renovations and plans for the future of this iconic Dexter landmark. The Historical Society has already raised over $4 million of the estimated $5.5 million needed to acquire and restore the building. The goal of this extensive renovation is to provide a year-round facility for community events and exhibits, and to leave a legacy for future generations of Dexter residents. Their current plan is to complete Gordon Hall renovations by 2028, with the next major project to restore the original central hallway and stairs while preparing the remainder of the interior for restoration.
