Fellow Rotarians,

This Monday, May 2, our Interact Club is hosting a speaker, Thomas Leanord at 7:20AM in Media Center at DHS. You are all invited to attend and help us welcome Mr. Leanord!!  See his bio below!

Also ... a couple of quick updates about our busy Interact Club!

1) We are planning to plant potatoes at Stephanie K's on Saturday morning, May7 at 8:30 AM.  We plan to harvest these in the fall and donate to the local food pantry.

2) The Interactors have set dates and times to sew the pillow cases they've collected for their "Little Dresses for Africa" project.  In addition to decorative pillow cases, they are collecting "gently used" toys (non-battery operated), clothes, and sun glasses to donate along with this project as well.  If you are interested in donating or helping sew, please let Lori or myself know.

3)  Some of our Interact Club Members are volunteering at the Cornerstone auction this Fridaynight!  If you are there, be sure to thank them!

Thanks for your time, support, and consideration, Brent Kolb

Thomas Leonard graduated from DHS in 2005 and Hillsdale College in 2009, with a B.A. in French. After pursuing study and teaching abroad while at Hillsdale, both in Taiwan and France, he decided to pursue work with the Peace Corps. He was assigned the West African country of Niger, in the field of Community and Youth Education. Arriving on July 9, 2009, Thomas and his fellow trainees began their PC Adventure.

After swearing in on September 10, 2009, Thomas began his two-year service. On January 21, 2011, Thomas and all the PC Volunteers of Niger closed their services. PC Niger's program was suspended due to terrorist activity (kidnappings of Westerners) in the capital of Niamey.
